What is Notarization?

Updated: Jul 3, 2024

Notarization is the process in which a notary public confirms the authenticity of the signatures on a document and verifies that the signers voluntarily and knowingly agreed to the terms. Notaries serve as unbiased observers designated by the state to deter fraud and safeguard the individuals participating in a transaction.
